Keyboard Test
betaThis free keyboard test shows a visual keyboard layout that lights up as you press each key. Keys you have pressed turn green, so a dead or unresponsive key is the one that never changes. It works with any layout because it matches physical key positions.
Test every key on your keyboard — press each one and watch it light up. Keys you have pressed turn green, so a dead key is the one that never changes. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Frequently asked questions
Is my typing sent anywhere?
No. Key presses are handled entirely in your browser to light up the layout; nothing is logged or uploaded.
Some keys (like Space or Tab) scroll the page — is that a problem?
The test suppresses those default actions while it has focus, so you can safely test Space, Tab, Backspace and the arrow keys.
Does it detect my exact keyboard model?
It shows a standard layout and matches physical key positions (KeyboardEvent.code), so it works across QWERTY, AZERTY and other layouts.
Does it work offline?
Yes. As a PWA it works with no connection once loaded.
