Frequently asked questions
Is my recording uploaded anywhere?
No. The audio is captured and kept in your browser only, and downloaded straight to your device — nothing is uploaded.
What audio format do I get?
Your browser records to WebM/Opus on most browsers, or MP4/AAC on Safari. The download uses the matching extension.
Why does it ask for microphone permission?
Recording requires access to your microphone. The browser asks the first time; you can allow or block it in your site settings.
Does it work offline?
Yes. As a PWA it records without a connection once loaded.
