Frequently asked questions
Is this true redaction or just a black box on top?
True redaction. The tool adds redaction annotations and applies them, so the underlying text, images and vector art are physically removed from the PDF — you cannot copy the text out or delete the box to reveal it.
Is my document uploaded to a server?
No. Redaction runs entirely in your browser with an on-device PDF engine, so your file never leaves your device — essential for confidential documents.
Can the redaction be undone?
No. Because the content is deleted from the file, it cannot be recovered from the output. Keep your original and check the redacted copy before sharing.
