How is an NPWP validated?

An NPWP has no public check digit, so the tool validates it structurally: 15 digits (legacy NPWP) or 16 digits (NIK-based since 2024).

What do the first two digits mean?

On a 15-digit NPWP, the first two digits indicate the taxpayer type (e.g. corporate, individual, branch). The tool shows it when recognized.

Does it format my NPWP?

Yes. A 15-digit NPWP is formatted to XX.XXX.XXX.X-XXX.XXX; a 16-digit number is shown as-is.
